Why does my lawn need a wetting agent? 

A wetting agent is a product used to enable dried out soil to effectively rehydrate so if you have a dry patch or patches on your lawn, it can help resolve this issue.

 

How does a wetting agent work? 

A wetting agent dissolves the waxiness that can form when the soil dries thereby removing the hydrophobic effect. It also breaks the surface tension of water droplets thus actively pulling moisture into the soil and holding it there. Wetting agents increase the benefit of both watering and rain during otherwise dry spells.

How often do I need to apply a wetting agent? 

Hampshire Lawncraft will offer to apply a wetting agent during scheduled visits if there is benefit in the prevailing conditions. Our Premium Treatment Programme includes the application of two summer wetting agents as standard.
